Meeting Summary | 2012-07-12

We had a great turn out of at least 17 people, about half of which were first time attendees. I counted a couple of families, too.

We shared an update on the state fair and discussed how to gift the graciously donated items from Fast Track Hobbies and Parallax. Steven shared an update on an Home Brew Robotics Club (HBRC) event he attended (like our TableBot Challenge). He also demonstrated a cool project with his Kinect controlling a robotic skeleton by mimicking his gestures. Dave donated a spectacular Sacrobotics banner for use at the state fair. Many folks shared their progress on their TableBot Challenge Robots.

These were our announcements:

  • July 28, 10AM-10PM
  • Expo Center (pavilion), Building #4

The AFRON “10 Dollar Robot” Design Challenge

Speaker Selected for November Meeting

  • Celebrity engineer and hardware hacker Joe Grand of Grand Idea Studio will present at our November 7th meeting.

Next Meeting

Once again, we thank everyone who donated their resources and skills to make this group possible.
